Williams - Book recommendation

I read this recently. Entertaining, easy read, and informative. Of course, not all things apply but I think that you should read it and take from it what you will.

Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins tonight made me think of this.  Now you can think of it too when you smell pumpkin guts.  By the way, that was a one-time phenomenon.  Sweet Brandon's breath doesn't always smell like a pumpkin, thank goodness.

Here's something else that made me laugh today:  A new bride said to her mother on her wedding day, "Oh, Mom, I'm so happy!  I'm at the end of my troubles."  "Yes, dear," replied the wise mother, "but which end?"

Brandon certainly carves fancier pumpkins than I.  But he will be at work until 11 tonight so I had to go it alone.  Last night he worked until 9:30.  Mind you, he goes to work at 6.  He is a very tired guy.  We should have carved a sleepy, glasses-wearing pumpkin to honor him for all he does for our family, bless his heart. 

Williams - Family Lake Trip

These are pictures that Kelli snapped of us while camping together this summer.

The Best Trip EVER!! This lake trip brought back so many fond memories from my childhood when we used to go to Lake Powell all summer long with our cousins. I am so glad most of my family and some of Herb's family could make it up to Oregon.

We primitive camped right on the beach at Prineville Reservoir which is about 4 hours from our house. We spent four days at the lake. Swimming, boating, eating, relaxing, and just had fun together. We headed back to our house on Friday so we could baptize Sage on Saturday and bless Abby on Sunday.  Can't wait to do it again.

Goat Panties

  
Sigh.  There goes Alana talking about goats again.


At our house, when something irritates you we say, "It gets your goat."

When something is a little worse than irritating, we say, "It gets your panties in a bunch."

When something is really bad, we say, "It gets your goat's panties in a bunch."

I just overheard Anika say to Brandon, "Hey, Dad!  My goat's panties are gonna be in a bunch if Obama wins the debate."


One of the best things about my family (The Jacobsens) is the different views, religiously and politically, we have.  But no one gets their panties (or their goat's) in a bunch!  Granted, we have fabulously entertaining and heated debates.  But our LOVE for each other reigns supreme.

Williams - St. George

After Vegas, we headed up to St. George to spend two days with my friends.

Williams - Vegas Sisters Weekend

Sisters Weekend in Las Vegas

All of Herb's Aunts, girl cousins, Herb's sisters, and sisters-in-law met in Las Vegas for a sisters weekend. I took Sage and Abby and we flew in on Friday night. On Saturday we went to breakfast, swam in the awesome hotel pool, saw the broadway musical Wicked, went shopping, and saw the Bellagio Water show. Too fast but so fun to see all the girls. I believe there was over 40 girls all together.
